SCENE 01 / 04

8:50—and class starts at nine

Yuki sleeps through the alarm. Mrs. Park calls her “Snowflake” and wakes her up, leaving just ten minutes before class.

Mrs. Park

Snowflake! Open your eyes! It's already 8:50!

Yuki

What?! The clock… 8:50! I'm late!

Yuki · to herself

Class starts at nine! Get up right now! Hurry, hurry!

SCENE 02 / 04

Ready in three minutes, breakfast forgotten

Minji asks about Yuki’s usual wake-up time. Yuki rushes out with a cheerful goodbye, but Mrs. Park notices she has skipped breakfast.

Yuki waves goodbye at the door with her bag over her shoulder; original Episode 05 artwork.

Minji

Yuki, what time do you usually get up?

Yuki

Yep! Three minutes today too! Okay, I'm off!

Mrs. Park

Have a good day! Oh my, she's already gone. And she didn't even eat!

SCENE 03 / 04

One more drama, one sleepy afternoon

Watching dramas until dawn has left Yuki tired. Junho suggests short naps and an earlier bedtime, but she is already drifting off.

Yuki feels sleepy on the sofa after staying up watching dramas; original Episode 05 artwork.

Junho

Yuki, why are you so tired? What do you do at night?

Yuki

I watch dramas until dawn every day. That's why I'm tired...

Junho

Let's take short naps and go to bed early at night. That's a good habit!

SCENE 04 / 04

A first diary entry, then lights out

Back home at night, Yuki writes her first diary entry in Korean. She says good night, turns off the light, and settles down to sleep.

Yuki · to herself

Today I'm writing my diary in Korean. My very first entry!

Yuki

Good night, ma'am!

Yuki · inner thought

Tonight I'll sleep soundly... Zzz...

FROM THE ORIGINAL VIDEO · LEARNING REPLAY

Say your morning routine aloud.

These three review turns follow the story in the original video. They are practice, not a continuation of the morning scene: Yuki skipped breakfast in the story.

Minji

What do you do in the morning?

Yuki

I get up, wash, and eat.

Junho

Are you tired? Let's go to bed early today.

One diary entry, one good night. Tomorrow is a new day.

FROM THE STORY TO YOUR OWN WORDS

Your everyday, in a few Korean words.

Talk about your routine and how you feel with everyday polite endings.

01

From waking up to winding down.

01FROM THE VIDEO’S LEARNING REPLAY

I get up, wash, and eat.

From the learning replay, not Yuki’s actual breakfast that morning. 일어나다 → 일어나요, 씻다 → 씻어요, 먹다 → 먹어요 make a simple morning routine.

02FROM THE ORIGINAL DIALOGUE

That’s why I’m tired…

Yuki explains how she feels after watching dramas until dawn. 피곤하다 describes a state and changes to 피곤해요. 그래서 means “so” or “that’s why.”

03FROM THE ORIGINAL DIALOGUE

Let’s go to bed early at night.

Junho is giving Yuki advice here. 자요 can be a statement, question, or gentle suggestion depending on context and intonation. In a routine, 밤에 일찍 자요 can mean “I go to bed early at night.”

A small ending for everyday life.

TODAY’S GRAMMAR

Use -아/어요 with verbs for actions and adjectives for states. Remove 다, then look at the last vowel of the stem. This is polite language for everyday conversation.

Last vowel ㅏ or ㅗ → 아요
Other vowels →

보다 becomes 봐요, as in 드라마를 봐요. You can ask with the same ending and question intonation: 피곤해요?

DICTIONARY FORM → ENDING

I get up.

The last stem vowel is ㅏ. Choose 아요; the two 아 sounds merge: 일어나 + 아요 → 일어나요. 자다 follows the same pattern: 자요.

The form-building diagrams are added learning aids using expressions from the story and replay. Habits, current states, and gentle suggestions depend on context. The past tense in Yuki’s diary and greetings such as 다녀오겠습니다 are for story comprehension, not this quiz. Irregular stems need separate practice.
