Introduction & Review

You already know polite -아/어요 statements. Add 같이 (together) and an inviting tone to suggest a shared activity. Use -(으)ㄹ까요? to ask for the other person’s agreement: “Shall we …?” The same ending can offer your own help: “Shall I …?”

N = noun; V = action verb; A = descriptive verb. Romanization is a reading aid.

Today’s Grammar / Explanation

V = action verb. Remove 다 first. After a vowel, add ㄹ까요: 가다 → 갈까요? 먹다 has a consonant: 먹을까요?

Keep a final ㄹ without adding another one: 만들다 → 만들까요? Some irregulars change: 듣다 → 들을까요? 걷다 → 걸을까요?

같이 + the familiar polite form makes an invitation: 같이 가요. The context and intonation distinguish an invitation from “We go together.”

Examples

같이 영화를 볼까요?gachi yeonghwareul bolkkayoShall we watch a movie together?
토요일에 만날까요?toyoire mannalkkayoShall we meet on Saturday?
