N뿐만 아니라 · -(으)ㄹ 뿐만 아니라not only… but also…

뿐만 아니라 adds a second point on top of the first: 이 식당은 맛있을 뿐만 아니라 가격도 싸요 (This restaurant is not only tasty but also cheap). With nouns: 한국뿐만 아니라 일본에서도 인기가 있어요 (popular not only in Korea but also in Japan).

Nouns: N뿐만 아니라, attached with no space → 한국뿐만 아니라, 저뿐만 아니라.
Verbs and adjectives: -(으)ㄹ 뿐만 아니라 → 쌀, 맛있을, 잘할.
Past: -았/었을 뿐만 아니라 → 끝냈을 뿐만 아니라.
Nouns as predicates: N일 뿐만 아니라 → 가수일 뿐만 아니라 배우예요.
The second part usually has 도: 가격도, 일본에서도.
Short form: N뿐 아니라 / -(으)ㄹ 뿐 아니라 (만 can be dropped).

Think in Korean · an English-speaker’s guide

It works like English “not only A but also B”. The 도 in part two is your “also”.
Keep both points in the same direction: two good things or two bad things.
It sounds a bit formal; in conversation, -고 or -(으)ㄴ/는 데다가 are also common.

“It’s tasty and cheap.” Simple listing, no emphasis (Lesson 17).

N도

한국에서도 일본에서도 인기가 있어요.

“Popular in Korea and in Japan too.” Just “also” (Lesson 9).

Use -(으)ㄹ, not -는.

뿐 attaches to the noun with no space.

가격이 쌀 뿐만 아니라 품질이 나빠요.가격이 쌀 뿐만 아니라 품질도 좋아요.

Keep both points in the same direction.

그 사람은 가수 뿐만 아니라 배우예요.그 사람은 가수일 뿐만 아니라 배우예요.

As a predicate, use N일 뿐만 아니라.
