Things You Will Do: V-(으)ㄹ N

Learn Things You Will Do: V-(으)ㄹ N with form rules, natural examples, common mistakes, romanization, and six practice questions with answers.

Introduction / Review

Describe things connected to a planned or expected action: a book to read, a person to meet, or a place to visit. The action description appears before the noun.

N = noun; V = action verb; A = descriptive verb. Romanization is a reading aid.

Today’s Grammar / Explanation

  1. Vowel + ㄹ: 가다 → 갈 곳; 보다 → 볼 영화. Consonant + 을: 먹다 → 먹을 음식; 읽다 → 읽을 책.
  2. Keep final ㄹ: 만들다 → 만들 음식. Irregulars: 듣다 → 들을 음악; 걷다 → 걸을 길.
  3. This is a noun modifier, not a complete future sentence by itself. 내일 읽을 책 means “a book to read tomorrow”; 내일 책을 읽을 거예요 is a full statement.
