Learn 12 Korean words for price, length, weight, and similarity, with natural shopping examples, romanization, and practice.

Beginner · Level 2Learn · Practice · Review

Introduction

Two bags may look similar, but one can be cheaper or lighter. Learn descriptive pairs so you can compare a specific feature. 가방 and 옷 are review, and 무거워요 / 가벼워요 extend the ㅂ pattern from Lesson 16. Choose a feature rather than judging a person generally.

Romanization is a reading aid, not a complete pronunciation guide. Read Hangul first. Notes marked “Review” revisit earlier themes; other words extend today’s topic.

Today’s Vocabulary

가방

gabang · bag

이 가방은 작아요.i gabangeun jagayoThis bag is small.

Today is the price adjective. Another 싸다 means wrap or pack.

이 치마는 짧아요.i chimaneun jjalbayoThis skirt is short.

비슷하다

biseuthada · to be similar

두 = two before a noun. Similar does not mean exactly identical.

더

deo · more

Review/extension: 더 before a descriptive verb makes the comparison explicit.
